I met Karen through friends and I am so glad I did! Karen offered me the opportunity to have a lesson with her to prepare me for a studio recording. I spent an afternoon in the studio with Karen Linker to improve my vocals before recording my album. Within just a few hours Karen showed me techniques to control power and pitch. Over the last few years, I've been lucky enough to have online lessons and also a 3 week period having face to face lessons every second day with Karen to prepare me for an audition (got the part!) and help me record 2 songs which I did as a present for someone special. She is very encouraging and patient and I learned so much from her. She is also a dynamite singer herself so when you watch her sing it's very inspiring and you know the level you're aiming for. She's also bubbly and funny and I feel very positive about singing after my lessons. Absolutely the best vocal teacher I ever had by miles.

My daughter took an intensive songs writing course with Karen this school holiday. This is a slight pivot from her weekly vocal lessons with Karen. What surprised me truly was when my daughter asked if she can have another 10 hours session after her first block. This is unusual to say the least as its never easy for my 12 years old to give up such a huge part of her winter holiday for enrichment lessons. It usually entails into a very lengthy conversation. So imagine my surprise with her forthcoming request for another intensive week of lessons. I’m convinced this is largely due to Karen’s rather unique ability to customize the lessons to pipe into her student’s interests while at the same time structurally help them to improve. Karen is absolutely talented and passionate about music. Her love for the art is evident in her enthusiastic and energetic teaching techniques. She has an amazing ability to very quickly diagnose potential places for improvement and provides my daughter with the tools to improve. I witnessed first hand how she uses simple technique to help my daughter improves and rectify some bad singing habits. No fuss, just a simple tweak in her posture for example. Along with the technical aspects of voice, Karen addresses performance techniques as well and these have been particularly helpful to my daughter. There is nothing like learning about performing from a master who has performed all over the world. For my daughter, it’s not all about the techniques that she is learning from Karen. I believe what drives her is also Karen’s personableness that makes learning singing exciting and fun. She's warm and effusive and really has a knack about communicating ideas and quickly and clearly to her students. She is exceedingly patient with my daughter, encourages her and coaxes the very best effort from her. All these leaves me in awe as I have seen very different motivation level from my daughter unlike before. In my opinion, Karen is worth every penny she charges and I certainly believe I have received excellent service for my money. I don’t just believe but know that my daughter’s singing and song writing ability has most definitely took on another level. I am tremendously grateful to her for everything she has taught my daughter thus far. In my view, Karen is more than a vocal coach to my young daughter, she is a mentor through and through.

Karen’s intensive course is definitely one of a kind. Taking vocal lessons with Karen is not just about perfecting favourite songs on pitch. There is so much more complexity to her lessons, including breathing techniques, vocal exercises for learning how to use different voice techniques, emotional expression, diction and even learning about anatomy! My daughter has learnt so much in the 6 months she has been attending Karen's studio. Her vocal range has definitely increased, especially the low notes she was not previously able to reach. Receiving a Parkinson’s diagnosis wasn’t something I found easy to share. It changed my life in many ways, but, unexpectedly, it also led me to discover the joy of singing. Ms Karen has helped me so much with not only my vocals, but also my confidence. Before starting my vocal tuition with her, I wasn’t very confident in my voice. And the lack of confidence showed through in my auditions, whether it was for musicals or just choir.
