Karen is a private events performer and so she does not accept circuit work or agency work. Therefore, you will not see Karen performing casual gigs around Hong Kong in any of the bars, clubs or hotels and many of Karen’s clients appreciate this level of exclusivity for their special day.
Karen performs at weddings in Hong Kong and overseas, and has sung at several weddings in Europe in recent years.
For European bookings, Karen engages colleagues based in the UK, Germany and Italy to form her accompanying band.
Karen is happy to travel to most worldwide locations to perform at weddings, and can assemble her band from a large network of musicians in all corners of the globe. This enables Karen always to perform with the accompaniment of familiar and well-rehearsed musicians, at the lowest possible cost to the client.
Karen can sing a selection of songs in languages other than English, including songs in Mandarin, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek and Italian.

Performing at Weddings in Hong Kong
Karen works directly with wedding clients and occasionally with wedding planners.
If engaged directly by the client, Karen will, if requested, take over full responsibility for the production of music at the wedding reception, including liaising with the venue, providing the necessary sound system, providing all instruments (including large instruments such as keyboards/drum kit), providing all associated band equipment and arranging for everything to be delivered, installed and sound-checked, well in advance of the wedding party’s arrival.
If requested, Karen can also, arrange for lighting, stage decoration and sound engineering.
Karen will also create and provide a playlist of client’s favourite music to be played during the musician short break periods.
Performing at Weddings Overseas
Karen has enjoyed performing at beautiful wedding locations and venues around the world, for friends and clients.
When engaged by a client getting married in a location outside Hong Kong, Karen’s preparations include assembling an expert band of more locally based musicians, arranging provision of sound system and instruments if necessary (hopefully with the assistance of a wedding planner) and working with the musicians online to ensure that all band members are prepared for the event. Karen will arrive at any overseas venue at least 2 days in advance to allow rehearsal with the band prior to the Wedding Day.

WHAT MAKES KAREN'S PERFORMANCES AT WEDDINGS IN HONG KONG & OVERSEAS SPECIAL?
Karen always goes above and beyond, both in terms of preparation and performance, for all her weddings in Hong Kong and overseas, taking great care to ensure that the music programme is perfect for the Bride & Groom and their guests.
To this end, Karen takes time to meet the wedding party long before the wedding day, to discuss the programme, ensure that some of the couple’s favourite songs are played during the dance set and, of course to sing whatever song, in whatever language, the Bride & Groom want for their first dance as a married couple.
In addition to performing at the weddings in Hong Kong with her wedding band, Karen is available to perform any piece of music, be it a Hymn, a classical song or indeed any piece of music the Bride and Groom wish her to sing, at the wedding ceremony.
Where this additional performance is requested, Karen can perform the piece A Cappella, or with accompaniment from her pianist or classical guitarist. Karen can also perform as a soloist against a backing track created by professional musicians, if this is preferred by the client.

KARENS BAND FOR WEDDINGS IN HONG KONG
Karen’s Wedding Band is a flexible ensemble comprised of anywhere between 3 and 12 musicians and backing vocalists.
For most wedding receptions, Karen is supported by her Keyboards player, guitarist, bass player, drums/percussion and saxophone. However additional musicians, including a horn section, a flute and backing vocalists can be added, subject to client preference and budget.
All of Karen’s band members are full time professional musicians, many of whom have trained extensively at some of the finest Music Colleges around the world, and are themselves now musical educators.
All Karen’s supporting musicians have decades of experience performing public and private events and are always polished and well rehearsed.
The band can play upbeat Jazz during the wedding dinner and then switch to dance music after the more formal part of the evening is finished, to enable the wedding party and guests to dance the night away!
If the Bride and Groom wish Karen to sing a classical, religious or any other piece of music during the ceremony, she can be accompanied by just her pianist or acoustic guitarist.
